Visiting Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang met with Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) Deputy Premier Troy Grant on September 16.

Both sides agreed to ensure security and safety for operation of agencies, businesses and peoples of two sides.

They will maintain visit exchanges while increasing coordination in personnel training.

They also reached consensus on NSW police working with their Vietnamese counterparts at the provincial level to establish a cooperation mechanism and share experiences in building conviction databases.

Minister Quang thanked the NSW authorities for their support toward local Vietnamese expatriates while hoping for further assistance to enable the community to contribute more to the state’s prosperity.

The meeting concluded the public security delegation’s Australia visit. Previously, they visited the NSW police’s counter terrorism unit.

NSW, the biggest Australian state, is home to a large number of overseas Vietnamese. A direct flight has been established between the state capital of Sydney and Ho Chi Minh City.-VNA
