Quang Nam invests in new ships to develop fisheries
The central coastal province of Quang Nam is planning to invest in the
construction of new fishing vessels for local fishermen, as part of the
implementation of Government Decree No. 67 on fishery development
policy.

In order to avoid errors in mass production, the province will conduct open dialogues with fishermen and run initial tests.
So far, 112 households and fishermen have registered 115 vessels to be upgraded or replaced with new ones, suitable for long offshore fishing trips. Newly constructed ships will be built using steel and other new materials.
Decree No.67 will provide many opportunities for fishermen nationwide, including in Quang Nam, to enhance the effectiveness of their offshore operations and contribute to safeguarding the country’s sea and island sovereignty, a Provincial People’s Committee official said.
To ensure the effectiveness of the decree, Quang Nam has also issued a new credit policy on building and upgrading ships.-VNA
