Quang Ngai (VNA) – A Philippine national has been saved and delivered to the border guard in the central province of Quang Ngai after his boat sunk at sea.

On December 5, La Van Dang, a fisherman from central Binh Dinh province, and his team-mates rescued the Philippine man, who was drifting on waters near Vietnam’s Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, while they were catching tuna in the area.

The rescued man is Eduin C Puda Jr, 30, from Bolinao, Luzon province, the Philippines. He said his tuna-fishing boat was hit by great waves and sunk on November 28.

On December 10, Dang brought him to the Quang Ngai provincial border guard high command at Sa Huynh fishing port in Duc Pho district, where he would receive further medical treatment and administrative procedures.-VNA
