Reference exchange rate up by 6 VND
The State Bank of Vietnam announced its reference VND/USD exchange rate on August 16 at 22,450 VND/USD, up by 6 VND from the day ago.

With the current +/- 3 percent VND/USD trading band, the ceiling exchange rate is 23,123 VND per USD and the floor rate is 21,777 VND per USD.
Major commercial banks kept their rates quite stable.
Vietcombank listed 22,690 VND (buying) and 22,760 VND (selling), per USD, unchanged from the day ago.

BIDV also offered the same rates as Vietcombank’s, with 22,690 VND (buying) and 22,760 VND (selling), per USD, down by 5 VND from August 15.
Techcombank adjusted its buying rate down by 10 VND to 22,670 VND and its selling rate down by 5 VND to 22,770 VND, per USD.-VNA
