The 15th Executive Committee of the Medical Association of Southeast Asian Nations (MASEAN) convened its mid-tenure meeting in the northern province of Quang Ninh on April 26.

At the meeting, delegates from 10 ASEAN member countries delivered their reports with a focus on medical ethics and professionalism.

They also shared experience in maintaining and promoting the sense of professional ethics of health workers, as well as in improving their professional skills to meet the rising demand of health care of people.

Prof. Ronnachai Kongsakon, President of the Thailand Medical Association, stressed that patients are the top priority, while professionalism is an important factor of the medical practice. Therefore, he said medical ethics and professionalism must be combined in order to give the best treatment to patients.-VNA
