A rescue team is helping a fishing ship along with its seven fishermen grounded on a shoal near Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.

Ship BD 95017 TS has been stranded in the eastern waters of Da Tay Island since 6.00am on June 3. The ship’s radio system broke so it could not call for help.

At 11am on the same day, Phan Van Xon, the helmsman of fishing vessel BD 96129 which passed by the area, contacted the Nha Trang Coastal Radio Station about the urgent situation.

After receiving the information, the Vietnam Coastal Radio System informed regional and local rescue teams so that they help the ship in distress.

Bad weather is hampering the rescue operation.-VNA
