The Korea Exchange Bank in Hanoi and the Global Care organisation on May 9 presented medical equipment and medicine valued at 100,000 USD for a health care project in the northern province of Lao Cai.

The support aims to improve health care for Lao Cai residents, disease prevention and health care education among the community in rural and mountainous areas, where few people can access quality health care, said General Director of the KEB’s Hanoi branch Lee Don Keun.

Since 2010, the KEB has supported a project on free surgeries for hundreds of children suffering from harelip and cleft palate. It plans to cooperate with Global Care to extend their support to disaster-hit areas in northern mountainous provinces of Lao Cai and Lai Chau./.
