Vietnam backs a plan by Taekyeung College (the Republic of Korea ) to open an international-standard university in Vietnam, providing education and training for foreign children in the country, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has said.

Nhan made the remarks at a reception for visiting Yoo Jin Sun, President of Taekyeung College in Hanoi on April 24.

The Deputy PM affirmed that he will ask relevant ministries and agencies to create the most favourable conditions to open the university.

The host also expressed his delight at the fine development in bilateral cooperation, adding that the scope of cooperation has been further elevated and broadened in numerous areas in the past years, especially in education and culture.

For his part, the college president said his side wants to cooperate with Vietnamese universities in a fruitful manner.

The guest said that in the time to come, his college will work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to study the demand for tertiary education in the realms of economy, trade and services in the host country.

In the short-term, the college will join hands with the Vietnamese side to train staff for the 18 th Asian Games (ASIAD) scheduled to take place in Vietnam in 2019.-VNA
