The Finance Ministry hosted a dialogue with Republic of Korea (RoK) firms operating in Vietnam in Hanoi on August 22 to update them on taxation and customs procedures and policies.

Deputy Finance Minister Do Hoang Anh Tuan and senior officials from the General Department of Taxation and the General Department of Customs also fielded questions about regulations in exports, imports and production involving RoK enterprises.

RoK Ambassador Jun Dae-joo said the Korean business community wants more support from the Vietnamese government, especially in taxation and customs, making it easier for them to do business in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Tuan said he hopes for more recommendations from participants to better relevant policies up to international standard.

Around 4,000 companies from the RoK are operating in Vietnam. RoK investors poured over 3.13 billion USD into the Southeast Asian country in the first seven months of this year.-VNA
