Handicrafts made of the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s traditional paper known as hanji are being showcased in Hanoi.

The 15 displayed hanji works were created by Yang Sang Hoon, Chairman of the RoK hanji artists’ association, who said he hopes the first ever hanji exhibition will help increase the mutual understanding and friendship between his country and Vietnam.

On the fringe of the event, talks with RoK artists, forums, and exhibitions will be held while the making of Vietnam’s traditional “do” paper will also be introduced to the public.

The hanji display, organised by the Hanoi-based RoK Cultural Centre, will run throughout April.

It is part of the “NEXT Project to Dispatch International Cultural Exchange Experts by Region” supported by the RoK Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.-VNA
