The relationship between the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Vietnam is one of the typical examples of the modern international relations, stated Speaker of the RoK National Assembly Chung Ui-hwa.

He made the statement after attending a ceremony in Seoul on September 1 to mark Vietnam’s 70th National Day (September 2), which was organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK and drew more than 700 Korean and foreign guests.

Talking with the Vietnam News Agency correspondents in the RoK, the speaker expressed his delight at the fine development of the bilateral ties in the past 23 years, since the two countries set up their diplomatic relations.

He hoped his country’s relations with Vietnam would grow persistently and the two countries would continue working together to become powerful world nations.

He also pledged to do his utmost improve the lives of around 60,000 Vietnamese brides living in the RoK.

The speaker also took the occasion to recommend that the Vietnamese people believe in the future and exert every effort for the future of the country.-VNA
