Scholarships for poor students in Central Highlands

The Rencontre du Vietnam (Meet Vietnam) organisation granted the scholarships at a ceremony held in Da Lat, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, on September 3.
Accordingly, each senior high school student received a scholarship worth 7.5 million VND while each university student was granted 12 million VND.
The Odon Vallet Foundation will present a total of 2,188 scholarships worth almost 19 billion VND to Vietnamese pupils, students and young researchers i n the 2013-2014 academic year.
The foundation, which grants scholarships to poor students as an encouragement for them to pursue their study, came to Vietnam via the “Meet Vietnam” organisation founded by overseas Vietnamese Professor Tran Thanh Van.
Since 2001, he has presented over 20,000 scholarships totalling more than 100 billion VND (4.7 million USD) to Vietnamese students.-VNA
