17-year-old swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien scooped another gold medal, in the women’s 200m backstroke, on December 12 at the ongoing 27th SEA Games in Myanmar.

Vien’s previous gold made on the day was in the women’s 200m individual medley, marking the first gold medals of Vietnamese women swimmers at regional games so far.

Myanmar is currently dominating the Games with 21 golds, 13 silvers and 12 bronzes, followed by Vietnam with 16 golds, six silvers and 10 bronzes.

The 27th SEA Games comprises 33 sports that award 460 golds, 460 silvers, and 637 bronze medals.
The games are held from December 11 to 22 in four different places in Myanmar, namely Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and Nge Saung beach in Pathein.

Over 6,000 athletes and officials from 11 Southeast Asian countries participate in the biggest biennial tournament in the region.-VNA
