Hanoi (VNA) – The second Asian Ju-jitsu championships opened at the Quan Ngua Sports Complex in Hanoi on August 12, attracting more than 300 athletes from across the region.

The athletes come from 20 delegations, including those from Vietnam, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand and Indonesia.

On the first day of the tournament, they competed in the combat and performance categories.

The second Asian Ju-jitsu tourney, held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its subordinate General Department of Sports and Physical Training, is scheduled to conclude on August 14.

Jujitsu is a Japanese martial art which is now practised in both traditional and modern sport forms.-VNA
