Construction of the second school for children on Truong Sa archipelago was completed as part of the second phase of the Programme “For beloved Truong Sa students”.

The school, covering 383 square metres on Sinh Ton island, cost nearly 12.5 billion VND. It will be handed over to local authorities on April 19, said the Programme’s Steering Board when reviewing its second phase in Ho Chi Minh City on April 12.

Head of the Programme’s Steering Board Truong My Hoa said she is happy to see enthusiastic response by pupils in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities across the country.

Many of children donors sent their pocket money to the programme, said Hoa, who is former Vice State President.

The first phase of the Programme saw the first school built on Truong Sa Lon island. It has been in service since April, 2013.

The Programme “For beloved Truong Sa students” is co-organised by the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Ho Chi Minh City Law newspaper, and Ho Chi Minh City Television.-VNA
