Singapore will invest 35 million SGD (30 million USD) in a marketing campaign to boost visitor arrivals to the island country.

The Singapore Tourism Board - Changi Airport Group partnership targets to achieve 3-4 percent annual growth in tourist volume on average amid a challenging market environment, announced the STB on April 1.

The campaign will focus on Singapore’s key markets, such as Australia, Indonesia, China and India.

Travel agents, airlines and cruise liners will also be close partners in the campaign, offering tour packages to travellers to experience the allure of Singapore.

CAG’s Chief Executive Officer Lee Seow Hiang said the marketing efforts are designed to popularise the country as a family-friendly destination and Changi Airport as the world’s best aviation hub.

Statistically, Singapore welcomed 15.1 million foreign tourists last year, down 3.1 percent from 2013, marking the first decrease since 2009.-VNA
