Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has expressed his confidence that the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement is likely to be completed by early next year.

“There are some remaining complicated issues; however, it is the last 100 metres. Thus, we have to make a push,” the PM was quoted by Singaporean newspaper as saying at a ceremony to celebrate Singapore property giant CapitaLand’s 20th anniversary on November 9.

Lee Hsien Loong said outstanding TPP issues are mostly domestic factors in each member country, adding that if each nation can persuade its branches to accept greater foreign competition, they can enter other countries’ market and consumers will also benefit.
