Six seamen were rescued on August 29 when a ship sank near Bach Long Vy Island in the northern port city of Hai Phong on August 28 afternoon.

Earlier, 20 passengers, including 12 foreign tourists, were rescued after the boat they were staying on overnight in Ha Long Bay sank during strong winds.
