A programme designed to improve the export competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is being carried out in Vietnam.

The Swiss-funded project, which is carried out between 2013 and 2017, aims to increase SMEs’ contribution to the country’s export turnover by improving their access to trade promotion services at regional and lower levels.

It also helps the Government realise its policy to help local businesses deal with inventories and expand their markets.

The programme will support the establishment of a national export council so as to reinforce Government officials’ capabilities in overseeing and evaluating the implementation of the national export strategy.-VNA
