methamphetamine tablets and 3.3 kilograms of opium on June 18.
The detainee is Mua A Giang, 35, from Pu Nhan village, Moc Chau district, Son La province.
Under the pretence of taking his wife and two-month-old child to a local hospital for a medical check-up, Giang brought the drugs from Vietnam-Laos border into the province.
He told the police that he was paid 10 million VND (475 USD) by a Lao national to transport the drugs from the border to Moc Chau town.
The case is under investigation.-VNA
