Vietnam and Singapore should support each other to grow further, especially with Vietnam’s advantages in agriculture and human resources, former Prime Minister and Emeritus Senior Minister of Singapore, Goh Chok Tong said.

At his meeting with President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on September 24, Goh Chok Tong said he was delighted at the progress made in bilateral relations.

He suggested the two countries cooperate on aviation and tourism since Singapore was an attractive destination for foreign tourists with 16 million arrivals each year.

The guest affirmed that Singapore is willing to share its experience and support Vietnam in developing its banking system, accessing loans to upgrade infrastructure and increasing the quality of human resources.

President Truong Tan Sang said he highly valued the former PM’s proposal.

He expressed his hope that both sides would maintain visits to deepen the bilateral strategic partnership further.-VNA
