President Truong Tan Sang received outgoing Bangladeshi Ambassador to Vietnam Supradip Chakman in Hanoi on November 25.

The President praised the ambassador's mission, which contributed to beefing up the traditional friendship between the two countries.

He noted with pleasure the promising economic cooperation between Vietnam and Bangladesh, with a hope that two-way trade will reach 1 billion USD next year.

To expand economic, trade and investment ties, the two nations should increase high-ranking contacts and information sharing via their Inter-Governmental Committee, he said.

Ambassador Supradip Chakman agreed with President Truong Tan Sang that the two countries see a great potential for collaboration, especially in economy.

Appreciating experience learned from Vietnam in agriculture, he highlighted cooperation areas that need to be further boosted in the time to come, including information technology, education, pharmacy, and textiles.-VNA
