The 5 billion JPY (62.5 million USD) plant is specialised in manufacturing cathode materials for lithium ion batteries, an essential material in the energy revolution.
"The new plant in Vietnam will provide a solid foundation to expand our lithium-ion battery cathode material business throughout the region and wider world," said General Director of SOC Vietnam Yoshihiko Sumitani.
Located in a 56,000 sq.m. plot in the Thang Long Industrial Park II, the plant is designed to produce 2,000 tonnes of product per year. The productivity could be increased to 10,000 tonnes per year, depending on market demands- VNA
