As many as 4,000 people engaged in a super tea party in the Central Highland resort city of Da Lat on the night of December 24, setting a Vietnam record.

Besides tasting the local tea flavour, attendees were introduced to the art of tea cultivation and processing to make the Vietnamese Oolong Tea in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong.

The event is part of activities in a week-long programme rounding off the National Tourism Year of Central Highlands – Da Lat 2014.

A Japanese culture day also took place in Da Lat earlier on the same day, and a tourism-craft fair opened with more than 400 booths featuring tourism products and specialties of not only Lam Dong but also other provinces and cities.

In connection with the programme, the fifth Lam Dong Tea Culture Week 2014 is running from December 21 - 25 in Da Lat and Bao Loc, Di Linh and Bao Lam districts.

Da Lat is also hosting a colorful festival, themed “Da Lat – Colours of winter”, to honour its prestige as a city of flowers.-VNA
