Vietnam is one of Switzerland ’s top priorities in development cooperation, said Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch.

The Swiss minister made the affirmation while meeting with Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan in the city on Nov. 17.

He said that together with the fine diplomatic ties, the bilateral economic cooperation between Switzerland and Vietnam has been continuously promoted over the past years.

At the meeting, Swiss businesses expressed their willingness to help Ho Chi Minh City solve challenges it is facing during the economic development, especially in infrastructure.

According to the President of the Swiss-Asia Chamber of Commerce, Urs Lustenberger, Swiss businesses saw Vietnam as an economy with a strong growth and a market of great potential.

The HCM City mayor spoke highly of the Swiss delegation’s visit, saying that it will help boost cooperation between the two countries in general and between HCM City and Swiss localities in particular.

He affirmed that HCM City always creates favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Switzerland . He expressed his hope that more Swiss investors will come to the city./.
