“Sympathetic hearts” programme has so far raised nearly 6 billion VND to support people with disabilities and victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin nationwide.

The donation has been used to cover surgery cost for 30 poor children with congenital heart diseases, and the building of 21 compassionate houses, 220 saving books, 235 wheelchairs, 250 scholarships and 2,500 gifts for people living in extremely difficult circumstances.

Of the sum, 2.3 billion VND was raised at an artistic performance dedicated to the programme held in Hanoi on April 18, which saw the participation of many famous artists, including vision-impaired musician Ha Chuong.

The artistic exchange spotlighted disadvantaged people and AO victims through documentaries, especially the lives of 54 children whose parents died in the Len Co quarry landslide in Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, the central province of Nghe An on April 1./.
