Developing teacher training curricula was the focus of discussions during a two-day workshop from August 20 in the northern province of Thai Nguyen.

The event saw the participation of nearly 400 delegates from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Institute of Education Science, domestic and international universities, including guests from Japan, Taiwan (China), Laos, Germany, and the Republic of Korea.

Participants shared their experience in developing relevant curricula for teacher training, and analysed the curricula renewal at domestic teacher training institutions.

The y also discussed approaches in changing teacher training methods or enhancing capacity of teachers as well as training institutions alike in order to better serve the universal education reform.

Many stressed the need for change in urgent matters, such as the mind-set of stakeholders, teaching methods and relevant legal framework.

The workshop is part of activities to realise Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW adopted by the Party Central Committee’s 8 th conference in 2013 on fundamental and comprehensive reform of education, serving industrialisation and modernisation in the socialist-oriented market economy.-VNA
