The Vietnam Masters Cup will kick off on December 23 at Ho Chi Minh City 's Phu Tho Gymnasium.

The end-of-year tournament is expected to attract the top 16 men and eight women from around the country, who will compete for total prize money of 280 million VND (13,300 USD). The cream of the crop will be selected for the country's David Cup and Fed Cup qualification rounds.

The finals are scheduled for December 31.

The organisers plan to open the event up for regional competitors in the near future.-VNA
