A total of 63 riders from 13 local and international teams started the 52-kilometre stage that ran through streets in the new Binh Duong city in the southern province of Binh Duong.
Nuntana crossed the finishing line in 1:21:24 ahead of Phan Thi Lieu of An Giang’s Gao Hat Ngoc Troi team.
The third place went to Malaysian Grace Phang, who races for Binh Duong’s Biwase Con Voi Fertiliser.
The second stage covering 90km running from Dinh Quan district in southern Dong Nai province to Bao Loc city in Central Highlands Lam Dong province will start on March 1.
The annual cycling competition will cover a length of 741km running through seven provinces: Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
