Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen have agreed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and jointly develop border areas during their recent meeting in Phnom Penh.

The Thai media reported on February 5 that the meeting took place during Yingluck’s visit to Cambodia to attend the royal cremation of King Father Norodom Sihanouk.

During the meeting, the two leaders expressed pleasure at the fine development of bilateral relations in various fields.

Yingluck affirmed her wish to cooperate with Cambodia in developing border areas for prosperity and peace.

She took the opportunity to thank the Cambodian government for granting a royal pardon and prison term reduction for two Thai activists, considering it a goodwill gesture from Cambodia. -VNA
