The governments of Thailand and China will continue joint efforts to enhance bilateral relations and maintain regional peace and development, Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said.

At his reception for Chinese Defence Minister Liang Guanglie in Bangkok on Dec. 2, Thai PM Abhisit Vejjajiva highly praised the development of defence ties between the two countries.

He pledged that Thailand will focus on the development of relations and cooperation with China in 2010 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.

The Chinese military values the strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two sides and is willing to further cooperate with its Thai counterpart in various areas, Minister Liang told the Thai PM.

During the visit to Thailand, Chinese Minister Liang held talks with his Thai counterpart Prawit Wongsuwan and discussed a number of issues of common concern./.
