Thailand and Singapore have jointly held the 3rd meeting on close economic cooperation, during which the two countries discussed benefits of a single market and production base under the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

The meeting, attended by the Thai commerce minister and his Singaporean counterpart, aimed to increase trade and investment opportunities in various fields, including agricultural products and food, cruising, infrastructure, ICT and trade facilitation.

The delegates expressed hope that the Thai-Singaporean cooperation will help boost their competitiveness in the AEC, where ASEAN will turn into a single market and production base.

According to them, Thailand’s potential on production and agricultural exports and Singapore’s expertise in marketing and product distribution will be the keys to the success of the cooperation.-VNA
