The ministry's Permanent Secretary Somchai Chanhiran said that Thailand is a major plastic exporter to both the ASEAN and global markets, although most of the products are exported in the form of plastic pellets which are not so expensive.
Thailand’s Institute of Plastic is preparing to restructure the national manufacturing strategy to process plastic into products with higher value, such as plastic packaging for food, bio-plastics and medical equipment made from plastic, he said.-VNA
