The Thai Commerce Ministry has organised the “Thailand Trade Show” in Africa, in hope of promoting the exports of Thai products.

The show, held during the Thailand-Africa JTC meeting in Africa’s Cape Town , aimed to help Thai entrepreneurs set foot in the African market. More than 20 textile, food, and OTOP product exporters from Thailand joined the event.

The event also gave an opportunity to both the Thai exporters and African investors to discuss trade issues. According to the ministry, many African importers showed up at the event and expressed interests in Thai products.

Meanwhile, the Thai ambassador to Africa revealed that both countries saw over 5 billion USD in trade last year, increasing by 15 percent year-on-year. He also expected the figure to grow by at least 10 percent this year, adding that food and textile products will be the main export goods to Africa.-VNA
