Thailand saw a minus 3.38 percent growth in its export in June, while the trade deficit was as high as 1.9 billion USD.

According to Thai Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Commerce Vatchari Vimooktayon, the country’s export was worth 19 billion USD in June, dropping for the second consecutive month.

She cited world economic downturn as one of the factors contributing to the drop, especially in the US , China , and Europe , which caused the Thai export to plummet.

Vatchari further revealed that Thailand ’s import in June rose 3.01 percent to around 21 billion USD.-VNA
