The People’s Committee in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa decided to allocate 200 billion VND to develop school dormitories in remote districts across the province until 2020.

According to the project, the funding will cover new and upgraded dormitories, canteens, auxiliary facilities and water supply systems for secondary and high schools in seven mountainous districts – Luong Lat, Quan Son, Quan Hoa, Ba Thuoc, Thuong Xuan, Nhu Xuan and Lang Chanh. Boarding schools will also be built 47 new dormitories.

Thanh Hoa currently has 19 schools with dormitories in remote areas, only enough for a small portion of students. Many have to walk dozens of kilometres to schools or build temporary campuses near schools.-VNA
