Accordingly, Cao Vien, 106 years old, and his 100-year-old wife Vu Thi Hai from Dien Chau district in the central province of Nghe An broke the record for the oldest living couple.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Tru, a 121-year-old woman from Ho Chi Minh City was recognised as the oldest woman alive.
Born on May 4, 1893, Nguyen Thi Tru was first recognized as the oldest living person in Vietnam in 2011. She lives in Da Phuoc commune, Binh Chanh district.
A ceremony will be held in the near future to present the certificates to the record breakers.-VNA
