The Republic of Korea (RoK) supplied a large number of visitors to Vietnam , becoming the second largest tourism market of the Southeast Asian country with 495,000 arrivals in 2010 as compared to 53,000 in 2000, said VAT Deputy Head Hoang Thi Diep.

Diep said that services and quality of the Vietnamese tourism sector have been constantly improved. However, the sector needs to enhance studies on the market and customers’ tastes to raise competitiveness.

Also addressing the seminar, Cho Young Jai, General Secretary of the ASEAN-RoK Centre said that the centre is planning several activities to boost tourism and cultural exchanges as well as promote understanding between the RoK and ASEAN countries.
