A scientific workshop on Vietnamese acupuncture was held at the Hanoi-Moscow Centre for Culture, Trade and Hotels (Incentra) in Moscow, Russia on September 21.

The event hosted Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, Director of the Central Acupuncture Hospital Asso.Prof Dr. Nghiem Huu Thanh, Chairman of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association Vladimir Buianov, and a number of experts and specialists in the field.

Addressing the event, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said Vietnam has highly developed acupuncture applied in 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The country has cooperated with nearly 50 countries in the field, she added.

At the workshop, Dr. Nghiem Huu Thanh introduced participants to Vietnamese acupuncture techniques in combination with modern medical treatments.

Aleksandr Razumov, Director of the Moscow Medicine Rehabilitation and Spar Treatment Centre, hailed the traditional Vietnamese medical method in rehabilitation.

Participants also visited the 500-square-metre Vietnam Centre for Acupuncture in Moscow run by Vietnamese and Russian experts.

The centre’s operation will strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries in culture and health care, said Minister Tien.-VNA
