Hanoi (VNA) – Both Vietnamese and English will be used parallel for all directions on Cat Linh–Ha Dong urban railway trains, according to the Ministry of Transport.

The adjustment came more than one month after the ministry collected of public feedback on the prototype train designs.

Dozens of additional seats would be installed in each carriage of the four-carriage train to better serve passengers at rush hours, the ministry said.

The image of Khue Van Cac (the pavilion of the constellation of literature) in Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (the Temple of Literature), the symbol of Hanoi, decorated at the top of the train would be highlighted to be more eye-catching, the ministry said.

The ministry also required the Chinese manufacturer – Beijing Subway Rolling Stock Equipment Ltd. to carefully treat weld seams on the train's body to improve the train's image.

The LED system map on the train would be adjusted to be easier for passengers to see.

The ministry ordered the Railway Project Management Unit, that was assigned to be in charge of the Cat Linh–Ha Dong urban railway project, to set up an expert team to visit China and verify the quality of the train's components before the train was fully assembled.

The ministry plans to buy 13 trains from the Chinese manufacturer to run the rail route beginning at Dong Da district's Cat Linh street and ending at Yen Nghia Bus Station in Ha Dong district. The trains are expected to be run trials on December 31.

The Cat Linh–Ha Dong urban railway project was kicked off in November 2011 and scheduled to run trials in 2015 but failed due to land clearance issues and capital management.-VNA
