Border guards in the central province of Ha Tinh, in collaboration with Lao police officers, busted members of a trans-national drug ring with 5.5 tonnes of drugs, said Chief in Command of the provincial Border Guard Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vo Trong Hai on July 26.

Accordingly, eleven suspects, including ten Lao nationals and one from Thailand, were caught red-handed in the Lao province of Bolykhamxay on July 23.

Police seized 3.5 tonnes of precursor, 2 tonnes of dry cannabis, a car and documents related to drug trafficking.

The case, the largest dismantled through a joint operation by Lao police and Ha Tinh border guards, is under further investigation.-VNA
