Bangkok (VNA/NNT) – United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Director-General Irina Bokova and Chairperson Michael Worbs will deliver a message of condolences to Thailand over the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej on September 26 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France.

The message will be delivered on the first day of an International World Peace meeting where UNESCO permanent delegates from Buddhist organisations will attend during September 26-28.

The meeting will be chaired by Thai Ambassador to France and permanent Thai delegate to UNESCO Sihasak Phuangketkeow.

To be organised by the World Fellowship Of Buddhists, the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris, and the Office of Thai Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, the event will be attended by delegates from Buddhist organisations from around the world, including China, Japan, Australia, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, and Nepal.-VNA
