Danang University in the central city of the same name inaugurated a centre on scientific research and postgraduate training on June 30 in cooperation with France ’s Nice Sophia Antipolis University.

In the first phase, the two universities will focus on areas such as computer science, integrated automation systems, water resource management, business administration, international law and e-tourism.

Scientific research and personnel training in these sectors are based on the socio-economic strategy for the central and Central Highlands region, aimed at providing a workforce for Danang city’s hi-tech industrial zone which is under construction.

Information technology and integrated automation are two main industries in the zone.

Danang University is a polytechnic and the biggest academic institution in the region, comprising eight member universities with a teaching staff over 1,800 strong and 75,000 in total student enrolment.

The university has established more than 30 cooperative programmes with foreign universities in an effort to achieve its goal of joining the ranks of major universities in the Asian-Pacific region as well as the world./.
