Quang Nam (VNA) – The US Agency for International Development (USAID) will granted around 24 million USD to a forest conservation project in the central provinces of Quang Nam and Thua Thien-Hue for 2016 – 2020.

The fund was announced by Gloria Steele, USAID Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator for Asia at her working session with authorities of Quang Nam on October 20.

Steel said the project was designed to improve local incomes via boosting investment in smart agriculture as well as forest and bio-diversity conservation.

The project, with the participation of the two authorities, will encourage residents to take part in small-scale and sustainable farming.

To support Vietnam in becoming a low-carbon economy, the USAID is committed to backing the country in climate change adaptation and green energy development.-VNA
