Hanoi (VNA) - Nguyen Tam Chien, President of the Vietnam-USA Society (VUS), received a delegation of teachers and students from the US’s  George School in Hanoi on June 13.

The group, consisting of three teachers and eight students, is on a field trip in Vietnam from June 12 to 27, which includes home-stays in Hanoi and Hoa Binh’s Mai Chau district, tours to historical and cultural sites, and voluntary activities.

At the meeting, Chien stated that Vietnamese people welcome the younger generation of the US to learn about their country and support bilateral cooperation in education, trade and humanitarian aid for mutual benefits.

Teacher Cheryl Ann Mellor, who led the group, said a tour with voluntary activities and home-stay will help her students enrich their knowledge and contribute to Vietnam – US ties in the future.

Established in 1893, George School is a private boarding and day high school located in Newtown, Pennsylvania. It has trained 15 Vietnamese students.-VNA
