A US soldier during the American war, Paul George Harding decided to come back to Vietnam to live and work as an English teacher for free. On the days after the ban on illegal labeling of advertisements took effect, Paul and his students began cleaning walls full of leaflets every afternoon.

After nearly a month, Paul’s team has made walls clean again, bringing back beauty to many streets. He intends to spread the work to many other streets. Despite hardships, Paul has inspired youngsters to get involved in the voluntary work.

Dirty walls piled up with illegal ads annoy locals. They warmly welcome Paul and his team’s work.

While many Vietnamese are destroying the living environment, a foreign friend has come to make it clean again. How thoughtful. His work has raised awareness of the protection of living environment and cityscape among the community.-VNA
