US, Vietnam pianists to perform
Hanoi (VNA) -
American pianist Ory Shihor will perform with Vietnamese pianist Nguyen Bich Tra
at the Soul Music and Performing Arts Academy in HCM City on September 22.
Bich Tra, who is based in London, received a master’s degree from the College
of Music and Media in London, after completing an advanced course at the Royal
Acadmey of Music and graduating from the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory in
1997.
The two pianists will talk about their experience in becoming professional
musicians during the event, which is part of the Soul Connects project for
aspiring musicians.
Shihor received a scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation when
he was 12. He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School
in New York, where he won the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano
Competition.
He is also the founder of the Colburn Music Academy in California, and teaches
piano at his school and Colburn Conservatory.
The event will begin at 7pm at Soul Convention Complex, 214-216 Pasteur Street,
