The Da Nang Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital on July 16 inaugurated a rehabilitation centre for children.

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) provided the hospital with physical therapy equipment and devices to strengthen muscle and measure oxygen levels in blood.

On the day, USAID also presented wheelchairs to 69 people with disabilities (PWDs) in the central city.

Providing medical equipment and presenting wheelchairs are part of the agency’s 9 million USD project to help disabled people fully integrate into the community.

About 10,000 PWDs in Da Nang city, the central provinces of Binh Dinh and Thua Thien-Hue, and the southern province of Dong Nai will benefit from the project, which began in October last year and will run until September 2015.-VNA
