Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Vu Trong Kim congratulated Catholic dignitaries and followers during his Christmas visit to the diocese of northern Bac Ninh province on December 24.

Meeting Bishop Hoang Van Dat, Kim expressed hope that local Catholics will keep doing their constructive parts to the nation.

Bishop Dat thanked the Party, State and the VFF for their care, promising that he will continue encouraging parishioners to strictly follow the Party’s guidelines and the State’s law.

On the occasion of the Christmas, the VFF chapter in Phu Luong commune, Luong Tai district and a charity group donated 1.5 tonnes of rice and over 200 pieces of clothes to poor Catholics.

Bac Ninh is currently home to nearly 17,000 Catholics practising faith in 40 parishes.

The same day, Vice President of the VFF Central Committee Le Ba Trinh also visited and extended Christmas wishes to Long Xuyen diocese in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang.

A delegation of the Steering Committee for the Central Highlands led by deputy head H'Ngam Nie Kdam also paid a Christmas visit to Protestant dignitaries and followers./.
