The eighth Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee on September 26 discussed and approved the organisation’s Charter and personnel plan for the eighth tenure (2014-2019).

Under the plan, the VFF Central Committee comprises 385 members, 30 more than the previous tenure. As many as 383 of them were selected during the Congress while the two remaining from the Vietnam-Germany Small and Medium Enterprises Association and the Republic of Korea-based Vietnamese Society will be considered later.

The members include 11.6 percent from the central level, 16.4 percent from the country’s numerous localities, and the rest from different classes, sectors, ethnic minority groups and religions, both inside and outside the country.

50.9 percent of the total members are non-Party members, up 0.2 percent against the previous tenure.
